Looking for a State Inspector with Emissions with Tech experience to join our small garage. We have been in business about three years and growing. The Inspector would work between the State and Emission inspection line and assist lead technician and general duties around the shop when not performing State and Emissions Inspections. This is a good position for either the seasoned Inspector or the beginner — just bring with you willingness and a smile.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• A – Providing great customer service!
• State Inspections and Emissions
• Skills in general automotive repair; oil changes, tire repair and rotation, brakes, etc…
• Create repair orders and document work performed within the POS system (we use Mitchell)
• Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy
• Advise lead Mechanic/Service Manager if additional work is needed
• Order parts from our part providers/vendors
• Ensure the customers’ cars are kept clean and safe from harm
• Keep and assist with all shop areas remaining neat, clean and safe!
• Z – Providing great customer service!
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
• Require High School Diploma or its equivalency. Valid driver’s license required.
• State Inspection license and Emissions Cert
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Computer comfortable (POS – Mitchell).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work in a small established customer-oriented garage environment. The Inspector will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds several times during each shift and use hoist and test equipment as needed. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and feel. Will use hand and power tools. You will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, and exhaust fumes as this is a working garage. Road-testing vehicles may be required.
We are open 8-5 M-F
Sat 8-1 and closed Sundays.

Note: Unfortunately, this is a position that does not have benefits such as health insurance or 401k. We are not that big yet. Pay is every two weeks. Negotiable based on experience. We are looking for an honest, hardworking individual.
